OVERVIEW: Frank Williams is an Operational Excellence Principal Consultant who specializes in optimizing renewable energy control room and plant operations for utility‑scale solar and battery energy storage fleets. In his current role at NuConsult, Frank oversees Operations Specialists and partners with clients to design and implement operational improvement strategies, including control room process optimization, outage coordination, and real‑time performance monitoring. He leverages extensive SCADA and CMMS experience—using platforms such as PowerFactors, Ignition, Fractal EMS, Prescinto, and Maximo—to translate data into actionable insights that improve safety, availability, and regulatory alignment.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Frank began his renewable energy career supporting field work and site maintenance before transitioning into control room roles, where he gained hands‑on experience with remote operations, safety programs, and technician coordination. He interned with Tonian Renewables as a Control Room Operator, was promoted to Associate Operator and later served as a ROC Operator with Miller Brothers Solar, providing first‑line analytics, NERC‑regulated operations support, and real‑time response to abnormal conditions across diverse generation portfolios.
Frank’s background includes procedure development, management reporting to performance metrics, and front‑line support for cyber security and electrical safety programs. He is committed to building resilient operational cultures that emphasize clear communication, standardized workflows, and continuous improvement across both control room and field operations.
